Enzo Scarcella leaves Vodacom – may join Telkom

Vodacom managing executive Enzo Scarcella has resigned from the mobile operator, and industry speculation is rife that he will be joining Telkom in an executive role.

If the speculation is correct that Scarcella will indeed join Telkom, working under CEO Sipho Maseko will be familiar ground.

Scarcella worked under Maseko – then Vodacom South Africa MD – for most of 2012, until Maseko left the mobile operator in August of that year.

Scarcella joined Vodacom in 2008, and has been responsible for various initiatives in the company, including the successful Player 23 campaign.

Before joining Vodacom, Scarcella served as a marketing executive at Edcon; marketing director at M-Net; and brand group manager at SABMiller.

Scarcella told MyBroadband last week that he had not resigned from Vodacom yet, but hinted at the fact that he may leave the company to join Telkom.

Vodacom could not immediately comment on the resignation of Scarcella.
