Elon Musk buys James Bond submarine

Elon Musk, the South African born business magnate has been unmasked as the person who bought the classic Lotus Esprit which transformed into a submarine in the 007 movie “The Spy Who Loved Me”.

According to CNN, Musk, who is CEO of rocket building company SpaceX and CEO of Tesla Motors, aims to put the Lotus through its amphibious paces by putting in an engine of his own.

“I was disappointed to learn that it can’t actually transform,” Musk said in a statement to CNN. “What I’m going to do is upgrade it with a Tesla electric powertrain and try to make it transform for real.”

Musk bought the car at a London auction last month for a reported £616,00 ($920,167).
