Those who would prefer to have their results sent to them may subscribe to SMS services from IOL or the SABC, or WeChat’s matric portal.

To get Matric results from WeChat, users must add the SAMatricPortal WeChat ID, register with their exam number and then follow the on-screen instructions.

“You’ll get a WeChat message on 6 Jan (7 Jan for WC) to let you know that your results are available,” WeChat said.

There are also SMS-based notification services available from:

  • IOL — send the word matric and your exam number to 45479 (SMS costs R1.50); and
  • SABC — send your ID number, followed by your exam number to 35658 (SMS costs R3), or via the *120*35658# USSD menu (network premium USSD rates apply).
