Poynting in name change
Antenna maker Poynting Holdings has undergone a name change to Alaris Holdings as of Monday 3 May.
Poynting Holdings’ ticker POY has changed to Alaris Holdings’ ticker ALH, on the JSE.
In December, Poynting disposed of all loss – making businesses (Commercial division) to former CEO, Dr André Fourie.
It was agreed that Poynting Defence & Specialised and Holdings change name to avoid any potential confusion in the market.
Poynting Defence & Specialised is now Alaris Antennas, while Poynting Holdings is now Alaris Holdings.
African Union Communications retains its name.
Alaris is Latin for ‘troops on the wing’ and “echoes company’s commitment to partnerships with its customers, to share in their victories and suffer with them in adversity, and be there and ready when it is most needed,” the new company said.
