{"id":100242,"date":"2015-10-05T12:03:33","date_gmt":"2015-10-05T10:03:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=100242"},"modified":"2015-10-05T12:03:33","modified_gmt":"2015-10-05T10:03:33","slug":"the-most-valuable-brands-in-the-world-in-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/100242\/the-most-valuable-brands-in-the-world-in-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"The most valuable brands in the world in 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tech companies again dominate Interbrand\u2019s list of most valuable brands in 2015, led by electronics giant, Apple, with a brand value of US$170 billion, up an astonishing 43%, from US$119 billion in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The top 10 list is relatively unchanged from 2014, with only Mercedes-Benz slipping down to 12th, behind major rival BMW, and making way for online retailer, Amazon.<\/p>\n<p>Technology and automotive brands dominate this year\u2019s ranking, holding a combined 28 positions. Technology brands, in particular, dominate\u2014collectively making up more than a third (33.6%) of the total value of all 100 brands.<\/p>\n<p>Four tech companies feature in the top 10, and nine in the top 20. Social networking company Facebook, continues its March up the list, up 54%, to a bran value of US$22 billion, putting it at 23rd, from 29th in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Apple displaced Coca Cola as the world\u2019s most valuable brand in 2013, while Google \u2013 the world\u2019s second most valuable brand \u2013 also remained in place.<\/p>\n<p>Five new brands entered this year\u2019s ranking: Lego (82), PayPal (97), MINI (98), Mo\u00ebt &amp; Chandon (99), and Lenovo (100).<\/p>\n<p>Lenovo is the second Chinese brand to appear on the Best Global Brands ranking.
