Former Congress of SA Trade Unions (Cosatu) general-secretary Zwelinzima Vavi appeared in the Edenvale Magistrate\u2019s Court on Monday after being caught speeding.<\/p>\n
Vavi was among six people arrested on Sunday for speeding.<\/p>\n
Ekurhuleni metro police department spokesperson inspector Kobeli Mokheseng declined to confirm whether Vavi was one of those arrested.<\/p>\n
“We arrested six speedsters on the R24 during an operation on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
“Four of the arrested were taken to the Edenvale police station, while the other two were taken to Bedfordview police station,” he said.<\/p>\n
On Monday afternoon, Vavi took to Twitter confirming he had appeared in court for speeding.<\/p>\n
“Today I appeared in court, accused of driving 182km\/per hour in a 120km zone.
