{"id":100804,"date":"2015-10-09T13:32:35","date_gmt":"2015-10-09T11:32:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=100804"},"modified":"2015-10-12T08:43:28","modified_gmt":"2015-10-12T06:43:28","slug":"motsoeneng-suspension-ruling-heading-to-constitutional-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/media\/100804\/motsoeneng-suspension-ruling-heading-to-constitutional-court\/","title":{"rendered":"Motsoeneng suspension ruling heading to Constitutional Court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) on Friday said it will take the Supreme Court of Appeal\u2019s (SCA) ruling on its COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng to the Constitutional Court.<\/p>\n<p>The SCA ruled on Thursday that Motsoeneng should be suspended for 60 days while a disciplinary hearing into his alleged breaches of conduct is undertaken.<\/p>\n<p>Motsoeneng\u201a the SABC and the Communications Minister were challenging an earlier high court order that upheld Public Protector Thuli Madonsela&#8217;s finding that action be taken against him for receiving exorbitant salary increases and forging his matric qualification.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe SABC has instructed its lawyers to lodge an urgent appeal with the Constitutional Court\u201a in regards to the Judgement laid down by the Supreme Court of Appeal yesterday\u201a\u201d the broadcaster said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe judgement was in relation to the SABC\u2019s Chief Operations Officer (COO)\u201a Mr Hlaudi Motsoeneng.
