JSE-listed ICT service provider, Business Connexion (BCX) announced today (18 April 2012) that it has acquired 100% of the issued share capital of Quad Automation.<\/p>\n
SA based Quad Automation provides specialised engineering design, development and consulting services for the industrial sector.<\/p>\n
The company specialises in programmable logic controls (PLC), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and manufacturing execution systems (MES).<\/p>\n
Through the acquisition, Business Connexion will become a bigger player in terms of industrial services, boosting the company’s profile in the mining, manufacturing, petrochemical and energy industries.<\/p>\n
Business Connexion’s deputy CEO and group executive services division, Venssa Olver, said Quad Automation is a perfect fit for Business Connexion’s industrial service business.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe skills required to deliver these solutions involve a blend of electrical, electronic and control system engineering disciplines, together with a good understanding of Information technology systems. These are scarce skills, hence this acquisition is key to further bolster Business Connexion\u2019s competency in this area,\u201d Olver explained.<\/p>\n
