{"id":102419,"date":"2015-10-28T09:01:27","date_gmt":"2015-10-28T07:01:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=102419"},"modified":"2015-10-28T09:09:59","modified_gmt":"2015-10-28T07:09:59","slug":"best-performing-companies-in-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/business\/102419\/best-performing-companies-in-south-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"Best performing companies in South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Sunday Times Top 100 companies list reveals which South Africa companies have delivered the best return for investors over the past five years.<\/p>\n<p>The Top 100 Companies awards acknowledge those listed companies which have earned the most for their shareholders.<\/p>\n<p>The share-price performance of every company listed on the JSE is calculated on the basis of R10 000 invested over five years \u2014 from October 1 2010 to the end of September 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The winner is the company that earns the most for its shareholders in terms of share-price growth, after taking into account normal and special dividends and bonus shares reinvested.<\/p>\n<p>For 2015, Fortress Income Fund took top honours, delivering a 72.7% average annual compund return to shareholders.<\/p>\n<p>Trustco Group Holdings, with an average return of 70.4%, took second place, followed by listed ICT group, EOH Holdings, with 69.38%.<\/p>\n<p>Fortress Income was the JSE&#8217;s top performing stock in 2014.
