{"id":103207,"date":"2015-11-05T16:36:36","date_gmt":"2015-11-05T14:36:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=103207"},"modified":"2015-11-05T16:36:36","modified_gmt":"2015-11-05T14:36:36","slug":"sa-and-nigeria-havent-spoken-about-mtn-yet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/mobile\/103207\/sa-and-nigeria-havent-spoken-about-mtn-yet\/","title":{"rendered":"SA and Nigeria haven&#8217;t spoken about MTN yet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene had not discussed the MTN-Nigeria crisis with a counterpart in Nigeria because a cabinet in that country had not yet been appointed, Minister in the Presidency Jeff Radebe said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Describing relations between South Africa and Nigeria as &#8220;very good and very cordial&#8221;, Radebe said, &#8220;Our understanding is that the president of Nigeria is very serious about fighting corruption in his country.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He [President Muhammadu Buhari] has not appointed a new Cabinet yet because he wants a new chapter in Nigeria. So this issue does not affect the cordial relations of South Africa and Nigeria.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He said that Nigeria&#8217;s actions against MTN were in compliance with the laws of the west African country.
