{"id":104423,"date":"2015-11-17T12:56:02","date_gmt":"2015-11-17T10:56:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=104423"},"modified":"2015-11-17T12:56:02","modified_gmt":"2015-11-17T10:56:02","slug":"government-to-pay-half-of-the-e-toll-fee-shortfall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/government\/104423\/government-to-pay-half-of-the-e-toll-fee-shortfall\/","title":{"rendered":"Government to pay half of the e-toll fee shortfall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gauteng will spend R123 million in 2015 to subsidise an e-toll fees gap which occurred as a result of the reduced user charge dispensation, it announced on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Finance and e-Government MEC Barbara Creecy announced this during her mini budget speech for Gauteng.<\/p>\n<p>The total provincial budget increased by R2.1 billion from R95.4 billion appropriated in March to R97.5 billion during the adjustment budget process.<\/p>\n<p>The new e-toll dispensation resulted in fees being cut by 50%, a cap on fees and discounts on outstanding fees.
