The Vox Supafone is enjoying very good uptake, and provides consumers with an affordable and quality alternative to traditional voice products from companies like Neotel<\/a> and Telkom<\/a>. This is according to Vox Telecom<\/a> CEO, Douglas Reed<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Reed told MyBroadband BusinessTech that there is a strong voice over IP (VoIP)<\/a> strategy in the company, and that voice over ADSL<\/a> is a big part of that.<\/p>\n

\u201cADSL is definitely part of our VoIP strategy with the Vox Supafone and 3CX; however, because we don\u2019t have any control over quality on the ADSL cloud, we don\u2019t sell Cristal Vox (our premium corporate product) over this network,\u201d explained Reed.<\/p>\n

The use of VoIP products in the mobile market has been making headlines recently, but Reed said that, while they have been trialing such products, they have not been satisfied enough to drive this initiative.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been experimenting with mobile VoIP products for years, but we have not been happy enough to push them hard,\u201d said Reed.<\/p>\n

The lower prices associated with VoIP products is good news for consumers and a headache for traditional telecoms operators. However, the use of VoIP will only grow from strength to strength, Reed said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe future of voice is VoIP, and it will all get ever closer to free as time progress,\u201d concluded Reed.<\/p>\n
