{"id":104873,"date":"2015-11-22T08:04:19","date_gmt":"2015-11-22T06:04:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=104873"},"modified":"2015-11-22T08:04:19","modified_gmt":"2015-11-22T06:04:19","slug":"treasury-clamps-down-on-governments-luxury-christmas-spending","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/government\/104873\/treasury-clamps-down-on-governments-luxury-christmas-spending\/","title":{"rendered":"Treasury clamps down on government&#8217;s luxury Christmas spending"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a bid to further reduce wasteful expenditure, Treasury has rejected most of government&#8217;s requests blow state cash on luxury items this festive season.<\/p>\n<p>This is according to a report by the City Press, which said that 56 applications for festive spending were received by Treasury, of which only nine were approved, and 39 were rejected.
