JSE-listed Huge Group on Friday reported a 58% rise in operating profit to R14 million for the six months ended August 2015.<\/p>\n
Huge\u00a0 Telecom said its fixed-wireless\u00a0 combination of GSM and fixed-cellular routing is starting to gain traction as a substitute for fixed copper landlines.<\/p>\n
Revenue climbed 8% higher than the previous comparable period, to R107 million, while the group declared an interim gross dividend of 4 cents per share.<\/p>\n
The company reported headline earnings per share of 9.40 cents versus 9.20 cents before.<\/p>\n
Operating expenses during H1FY16 amounted to R31 million, down from R33 million before, while employee expenses amounted to R21.2 million, the same as before.<\/p>\n
Monthly sales of telephone lines aver aged approximately 800 during H1FY16 (H1FY15: 1 100).<\/p>\n
Huge said that the Average Revenue per User, where the user is defined as an
\ninstalled telephone line, amounted to just over R600 for H1FY16.<\/p>\n
The average selling price for a fixed-line minute during H1FY16 was R0.36 cents per minute.<\/p>\n
