winner gets &#8211; thanks to the exchange rate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2016 Nedbank Golf Challenge, more widely known as the &#8216;Million Dollar&#8217; challenge, has teed up at the Gary Player Country Club on Thursday, with $6.5 million (R93 million) total prize money on offer.<\/p>\n<p>The field has been bumped up to 30 players in 2015, and will increase to 72 players in 2016, having won a premier place on the European Tour\u2019s elite Final Series of the Race to Dubai.<\/p>\n<p>The winners of this year&#8217;s event will receive the following prize money<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First Prize: <strong>$1,250,000\u00a0 &#8211; R17.9 million<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Second Prize: <strong>$775,000\u00a0 &#8211; R11.1 million<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Third Prize: <strong>$433,000 &#8211; R6.21 million<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Fourth Prize: <strong>$348,000 &#8211; R4.99 million<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Fifth Prize: <strong>$295,000 &#8211; R4.23 million<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional prizes on offer for the golfers over the next four days include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The first player to score an albatross on the spectacular Nedbank par-five ninth hole will win a Volvo V40 Cross Country (Starting price\u00a0<strong>R386,700<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And on the Volvo par-three 16th, the first player to score a hole-in-one here will win a Volvo V60 Cross Country (Starting price\u00a0<strong>R421,600<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The Vodacom par-four 17th is offering a Volvo XC90 for the first player to score an eagle here (Starting price\u00a0<strong>R804,400<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And the first player to make an eagle on the Nedbank par-four 18th will win a Volvo XC60 (Starting price\u00a0<strong>R566.800<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The Sunbet par-three fourth hole is also offering a hole-in-one prize, with the first player to score an ace here winning a Tag Heuer limited edition Ayrton Senna F1 watch (app <strong>R25,000<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>156 players teed off at the 2015 edition of the Open Championship at St Andrews, with total prize money of \u00a36.3million, whilst the winner received \u00a31.15 million (R24.6 million)<\/p>\n<p>On the US PGA, the end of the year tournament, the FedEx Cup prize has a prize pot of $35 million:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1st: <strong>$10,000,000\u00a0 &#8211; R143 million<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>2nd: <strong>$3,000,000 &#8211; R43 million<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>3rd: <strong>$2,000,000 &#8211; R28.7 million<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>4th: <strong>$1,500,000 &#8211;
