Esquire has launched a\u00a0courier company, called CourierDirect, in order to\u00a0cut costs for its clients who\u00a0order items online.<\/p>\n
Esquire is one of the largest distributors of \u201cmobility, digital, and consumer lifestyle products\u201d in Southern Africa.<\/p>\n
CourierDirect already boasts a fleet of 12 vehicles, and is expected to be operational by the end of January.<\/p>\n
The service will also be of benefit to the company\u2019s Virtual Reseller Network, which features\u00a0more than 500 online stores.<\/p>\n
\u201cSetting up CourierDirect has been a multi-million rand investment, and will piggyback off Esquire\u2019s existing infrastructure,\u201d said Esquire.<\/p>\n
Frank Nolte, General Manager of CourierDirect, said the company would operate nationwide. Where the company had no presence, independent couriers would be contracted.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are adopting a different approach which will enable us to bring prices down. We will, for instance, charge per delivery \u2013 whether we are transporting one or five TVs,\u201d said Nolte.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe see this as a value added service to customers and we will be able to hit the tarmac running.\u201d<\/p>\n
