{"id":109195,"date":"2016-01-16T19:40:22","date_gmt":"2016-01-16T17:40:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=109195"},"modified":"2016-01-16T19:41:20","modified_gmt":"2016-01-16T17:41:20","slug":"zuma-must-fall-banner-torn-down-by-anc-supporters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/109195\/zuma-must-fall-banner-torn-down-by-anc-supporters\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Zuma Must Fall&#8221; banner torn down by ANC supporters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The massive &#8220;Zuma Must Fall&#8221; banner which was erected at the top of Long Street in Cape Town this week has been torn down.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports, the banner was torn down by people claiming to be ANC members, all wearing the party&#8217;s colours.<\/p>\n<p>Reaction to the tear-down has been divided, with many calling for the perpetrators to be brought to book for the act of vandalism &#8211; while others supported the move, particularly as the banner was said to be put up illegally in the first place.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-109197\" src=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Banner-torn.png\" alt=\"Banner torn\" width=\"600\" height=\"368\" srcset=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Banner-torn.png 692w, https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Banner-torn-300x184.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The City of Cape Town on Friday said in a statement that the banner had not been approved by the city, and had broken a number of by-laws.
