{"id":110503,"date":"2016-01-28T15:57:00","date_gmt":"2016-01-28T13:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=110503"},"modified":"2016-01-28T16:04:54","modified_gmt":"2016-01-28T14:04:54","slug":"expected-petrol-and-diesel-price-changes-for-february","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/energy\/110503\/expected-petrol-and-diesel-price-changes-for-february\/","title":{"rendered":"Expected petrol and diesel price changes for February"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Reserve Bank governor Lesetja Kganyago says that the petrol price in South Africa is expected to rise by 7 cents per litre in February.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The department of energy is expected to release the official fuel price\u00a0changes\u00a0for February 2016, on Friday (29 January).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The governor said that international oil prices have declined to multi-year lows since the previous Monetary Policy Committee (MPC)\u00a0 meeting, which was held on Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Petrol prices have declined only marginally since November and the current under-recovery suggests a possible increase of 7 cents per litre in February,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The rand continues to struggle against the dollar, with daily rates in January averaging around R16.40.
