Africa&#8217;s passport strength vs the world"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.passportindex.org\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">index<\/a>\u00a0of 199 passports across the world shows how South Africa&#8217;s green book ranks in offering visa-free travel.<\/p>\n<p>The list, compiled by PassportIndex, places passports into 80 ranks, depending on how many countries they give free access to.<\/p>\n<p>The index was compiled by global financial advisory firm Arton Capital,\u00a0using\u00a0government data from\u00a0193\u00a0countries and six territories.<\/p>\n<p>The United States and United Kingdom passports are ranked number one in the world, giving access to 147 countries each.<\/p>\n<p>Myanmar, South Sudan, and Palestine are ranked lowest (80th) giving free access to only 23 countries.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa is ranked 44th,\u00a0giving free access to 84 countries.<\/p>\n<p>The South African passports offers visa-free travelling to\u00a0most SADC countries, as well as almost all South American nations (excluding\u00a0Suriname, French Guiana, Mexico, Cuba, and Puerto Rico).<\/p>\n<p>Here are the most powerful passports in the world:<\/p>\n<div
