Research group Ipsos has released the data from its latest survey, predicting that both the DA and the ANC will likely lose support in the hotly-contested Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality.<\/p>\n
According to a report by the City Press<\/a>,\u00a0the results of the survey showed that:<\/p>\n The survey was\u00a0conducted between September and October 2015, where 974 adults above the age of 18 were interviewed in the metro about who they would vote for in the upcoming elections.<\/p>\n While the survey provides some indication of thinking around leadership in the metro, the results also imply that much of the province is undecided.<\/p>\n Nelson Mandela Bay is one of the “big three” metros that are in the spotlight for the 2016 Municipal Elections, with a heated political race between the ANC and DA to capture it.<\/p>\n The other two metros are Tshwane and City of Johannesburg.<\/p>\n Read:\u00a0These are the places to watch in the 2016 elections in SA<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The Nelson Mandela Bay municipality has seen ANC support decline over the years, with the party\u00a0winning\u00a0by a small margin of 51.9% against the DA\u2019s 40.1% in 2011.<\/p>\n In the 2014 National the ANC only won\u00a049.2% of the vote, while DA support remained fairly stable around 40.2%.<\/p>\n The latest poll results predict that both parties will lose support, in favour of other parties – most likely the EFF, which has risen in power since entering the political sphere in 2013.<\/p>\n In the 2014 national election, the\u00a0first-timer EFF managed to win 4.15% of the vote in the metro.<\/p>\n When you can register for municipal elections<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Zuma admits elections will be tough for ANC<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n This is what election results could look like if South Africans voted tomorrow<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n
