Thousands of members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) marched through the streets of Johannesburg on Tuesday in protest of President Jacob Zuma.<\/p>\n

The #PayBackTheMoney march, lead by EFF Commander-in-Chief, Julius Malema, aimed to march to the Constitutional Court in Braamfontein to demand that the president pay back some of the money spent on his home at Nkandla.<\/p>\n

Joburg Metro were informed that as many as 8,000 supporters were expected to take part in the March, which began at Mary Fitzgerald Square, Newton.<\/p>\n

Many supporters carried banners stating Zuptas must go in relation to the president’s close relationship to the Gupta family.<\/p>\n

Malema has been vocal in calling for the Guptas to leave the country due to their alleged corrupt links.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, The Gupta family and several of their companies launched an urgent application against Malema, to interdict him from inciting violence against their employees.<\/p>\n

On the Nkandla matter, The case is currently being heard in the Constitutional Court in Braamfontein. The aim of the case is to test the powers of the Public Protector Thuli Madonsela, who recommended that Zuma pay back a reasonable portion of the R246 million spent on upgrades to Nkandla not related to security.<\/p>\n

Contrary to popular understanding, the matter before the Constitutional Court is not about whether Zuma should be made to pay for upgrades to his homestead.<\/p>\n
