The Toyota Hilux pipped its rival, Ford Ranger, to the number one spot for best selling car in South Africa in 2015, although it was a close run race with the latter launching a face-lift model in October.<\/p>\n

The Hilux brand features a range of seven types of vehicles, versus four Ranger models, including a 147kW 3.2 TDCi Wildtrak 4×4 Double Cab.<\/p>\n

The two bakkie brands collectively sold nearly 70,000 units over the course of the year, but the real king of the road continues to be the VW Polo – through its Vivo and regular Polo vehicles which sold more than 47,000 units collectively in 2015.<\/p>\n

Among the 15 top cars, nine were either new models, or face-lift editions.<\/p>\n

The following 15 vehicles were among the top best sellers in the country, according to statistics published by the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa<\/em>)<\/span>.<\/p>\n
