{"id":112797,"date":"2016-02-16T09:04:56","date_gmt":"2016-02-16T07:04:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=112797"},"modified":"2016-02-16T09:04:56","modified_gmt":"2016-02-16T07:04:56","slug":"how-much-the-tesla-powerwall-will-cost-in-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/energy\/112797\/how-much-the-tesla-powerwall-will-cost-in-south-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"How much the Tesla Powerwall will cost in South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Authorised Tesla Energy reseller Rubicon has finalised the recommended retail prices of the Tesla Powerwall kits that will go on sale in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Only Tesla-approved installers will sell and fit the kits, with the first group of South African installers set to receive their training in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The kits are based on the Tesla Powerwall home battery and the StorEdge inverter system from SolarEdge.<\/p>\n<p>Prices remain subject to the exchange rate of the rand against the US dollar, and exclude installation.<\/p>\n<p>Installation costs will vary from home to home, and Rubicon said an energy meter may also be required for installations which do not allow feedback into the grid.<\/p>\n<p>The warranty length of the major components of the kits are as follows.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tesla Powerwall: <strong>10 years<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>SolarEdge inverter: <strong>12 years<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Solar Panels: <strong>25 years<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Kit 1 (RUB-TES) \u2013 R116,000 excl.
