World Hacker Team, a group who associates themselves with the Anonymous collective and #OpAfrica, has announced that it has\u00a0hacked the website of the South African Department of Water Affairs.<\/p>\n

The group said it attacked the site as part of Operation Africa (#OpAfrica).<\/p>\n

When Anonymous first announced #OpAfrica, it said that it\u2019s about \u201ca disassembly of corporations and governments that enable and perpetuate corruption on the African continent\u201d.<\/p>\n

It will also focus on the issues of child labour and Internet censorship in Africa.<\/p>\n

News of the Water Affairs hack comes after the same group announced last week that it had hacked a web portal<\/strong><\/a> belonging to the Government Communications and Information Systems department.<\/p>\n

As with the previous hack, the group dumped lists of usernames and passwords, some hashed and some stored in plain text, along with a host of other sensitive information.<\/p>\n

This includes full names, e-mail addresses, and phone and ID numbers.<\/p>\n

Unlike the hack on the GCIS, the dump from Water Affairs also includes highly sensitive financial data, and details of projects.<\/p>\n

The screenshot below is one of several posted by the group, and shows some of the project data it leaked in the hack.<\/p>\n
