{"id":115440,"date":"2016-03-04T11:26:37","date_gmt":"2016-03-04T09:26:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=115440"},"modified":"2016-03-04T12:47:03","modified_gmt":"2016-03-04T10:47:03","slug":"watch-skateboarder-wipes-out-after-hitting-96-kmh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/media\/115440\/watch-skateboarder-wipes-out-after-hitting-96-kmh\/","title":{"rendered":"Watch: skateboarder wipes out after hitting 96 km\/h"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Extreme skateboarder Mischo Erban reached a breath-taking 95.83 km\/h (59.55 mph) on a modified longboard, setting a new world record, but not before taking a tumble as he crossed the finish line.<\/p>\n<p>Erban raced into the record books with an all-new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guinnessworldrecords.com\/news\/2016\/2\/video-watch-thrill-seeker-mischo-erban-hit-95-83-km-h-on-an-electric-skateboard-418726\" target=\"_blank\">Guinness World Records<\/a> title for the Fastest speed on an electric skateboard.<\/p>\n<p>The 32-year-old daredevil completed the risky record attempt at Portoro\u017e airport in Piran, Slovenia, on a NEXTBoard created by the Slovenian start-up technology company Next Generation Vehicles (NGV).<\/p>\n<p>Incredible footage shows Mischo expertly riding the board down an aeroplane runway, controlling its powerful speed with a handheld remote.<\/p>\n<p>Two years in development, the NEXTBoard is a four-wheel-drive motorised longboard, powered by four Scorpion motors (one in each wheel) and two Tattu 6S batteries in series.<\/p>\n<p>The customised board takes 1.5 hours to charge and has an approximate range of 10 to 15 km (6 to 9 miles), if you aren\u2019t going too fast.
