Only four in every 10 South Africans trust the government to deliver effective services to the public, according to a study by market research firm, Ipsos.<\/p>\n

Ipsos said it conducted its poll from 17 September 2015 to 19 October 2015, with a total of 3,617 randomly chosen adult South Africans interviewed in their homes and home languages.<\/p>\n

Just more than four in every ten (43%) adult South Africans indicated in a recent Ipsos poll that they trust the government to deliver effective services to the public:<\/p>\n

“It is clear from these results that, in the opinion of South Africans, service delivery should be addressed immediately in a broad array of areas,” said Ipsos noting that the findings are significant given that the local government elections are set to take place later this year.<\/p>\n

The issue of service delivery was probed further and respondents were asked to indicate whether they believe that they get their money’s worth in terms of service delivery:<\/p>\n

The opinions of supporters of the three biggest parties in Parliament are remarkably similar, supporting the notion that South Africans are not satisfied with the current state of service delivery.<\/p>\n

Less than half of adult South Africans feel that the government is handling policy issues well.<\/p>\n
