According to the minister, the Hawks have yet to produce a\u00a0precise legislative reason for why they&#8217;re asking him questions. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bdlive.co.za\/national\/2016\/03\/14\/gordhan-baffled-by-timing-and-deadline-of-latest-hawks-letter\" target=\"_blank\">The minister has accused the investigative group of intimidation and harassment<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The 2016 Municipal Elections may run into some big issues, as the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bdlive.co.za\/national\/2016\/03\/14\/iec-struggles-to-address-problem-of-verification\" target=\"_blank\">Independent Electoral Commission is running into problems verifying addresses<\/a>. <\/strong>This\u00a0follows a\u00a0Constitutional Court ordered that it should\u00a0hold fresh elections in the Tlokwe municipality in North West, after it emerged that voters did not live in the wards they claimed they did. However,\u00a0as many as 4,000 addresses are missing, as people do not have permanent residential addresses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>South Africa&#8217;s rand recovered against the dollar on Friday, tracking gains in emerging market currencies as expectations of a long period of low global borrowing costs lured bulls back to high-yielding assets. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.xe.com\/currencycharts\/?from=USD&amp;to=ZAR\" target=\"_blank\">On Monday, the rand was trading at R15.27 against the dollar, R21.94 to the pound and R17.01 to the euro<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In global news,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/af.reuters.com\/article\/southAfricaNews\/idAFL5N16M06W?sp=true\" target=\"_blank\">Asian shares began a central-bank focused week on firm footing on Monday, buoyed by gains on Wall Street <\/a><\/strong>and glimmers of strength in weekend data from China. On Wall Street,\u00a0the Dow and S&amp;P 500 rallied on Friday to their best close of 2016 as investors embraced the European Central Bank&#8217;s stimulus measures and steadying oil prices drove up energy shares.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Oil prices were stable in early trading on Monday, with\u00a0global oversupply and slowing economic growth weighing on\u00a0markets but prospects of falling production lending some\u00a0support. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestar.com.my\/business\/business-news\/2016\/03\/14\/oil-prices-stable-as-market-seen-bottoming-but-oversupply-lingers\/\" target=\"_blank\">US crude\u00a0was\u00a0trading at $38.41 per barrel, down 10 cents, and\u00a0international Brent\u00a0was up 6 cents at $40.45 a barrel<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>In other news<\/strong>:\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sanews.gov.za\/south-africa\/minister-calls-regulation-health-care-costs\" target=\"_blank\">Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi\u00a0has called for the cost of private health care in South Africa to be regulated<\/a><\/strong> to improve access for the majority of South Africans.
