Chris Hart has defended his qualifications after questions were raised over his reputation as a market commentator.<\/p>\n
In an interview with News24<\/a>, Hart, who chose to resign from Standard Bank after being criticized on social media for an alleged \u2018racist\u2019 tweet, said he had built up his career and track record through hard work.<\/p>\n He said his qualifications and experience had enabled him positioned himself as a financial market strategist.<\/p>\n Hart was suspended by Standard Bank on\u00a04 January 2016, pending an inquiry into the incident in which\u00a0Hart wrote: \u201cMore than 25 years after Apartheid ended, the victims are increasing along with a sense of entitlement and hatred towards minorities\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n “People were saying I had no qualifications at all. I have never ever claimed qualifications I’ve never had. I have never ever tried to falsify it.<\/p>\n “My employers have always verified – completely and thoroughly – what I had. Records of what I’ve got and what I’ve claimed to my employers are exactly what I’ve got.”<\/p>\n “When you talk about what an economist is, there is no formal definition in terms of minimum academic qualifications.”<\/p>\n Hart has a higher diploma in education and bachelor of commerce degree obtained from Wits University.
