The Democratic Alliance caucus has walked out of the question-and-answer session in Parliament.<\/p>\n
This after President Jacob Zuma told the National Assembly that the rand had been on a downward slope before former finance minister Nhlanhle Nene was removed.<\/p>\n
Zuma removed Nene from his post in December and replaced him with little known Des van Rooyen, who was also removed after three days.<\/p>\n
The decision to remove Nene was well considered, President Jacob Zuma said on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Zuma said there were rational decisions behind Nene\u2019s removal and that the rand had been plummeting before he was replaced.<\/p>\n
Zuma said the opposition had always scored Nene very low every year and had even asked him to remove him.<\/p>\n
Maimane lambasted the president for his answer, and refused to sit down when ordered to do so by Speaker Baleka Mbete.<\/p>\n
He was asked to leave, and his caucus left with him.<\/p>\n
