The Gupta-owned New Age and ANN7 media outlets this week published the names of ANC politicians its sources say are behind a political plot to have the president recalled.<\/p>\n

At the epicenter of the report<\/a>: deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa, who along with Gwede Mantashe and Jeff Radebe are seen as the \u201cgenerals\u201d of the move.<\/p>\n

On the side of president Jacob Zuma, the \u201cpremier league\u201d, including Free State premier Ace Magashule and others, will allegedly come to the president\u2019s defense.<\/p>\n

According to the media group, its sources have highlighted what it calls an \u201call out war for control of the country\u201d, revealing a plot from within the ANC to usurp power from president Jacob Zuma.<\/p>\n

City Press on Sunday published a list of alleged Zuma allies versus those believed to be in favour of him stepping down, and has rated the factions according to how much power they are able to wield.<\/p>\n

The president’s alleged allies scored a power average of 4.78 out of 10, while those reportedly against Zuma scored a power average of 4.94.<\/p>\n

Zweli Mkhize, the ANC treasurer-general sits on the fence as it were, as his allegiance lies with both Jacob Zuma, and Gwede Mantashe.<\/p>\n
