{"id":11814,"date":"2012-05-08T09:14:29","date_gmt":"2012-05-08T07:14:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=11814"},"modified":"2012-05-08T10:12:30","modified_gmt":"2012-05-08T08:12:30","slug":"affordable-uncapped-adsl-with-free-in-flight-wi-fi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/internet\/11814\/affordable-uncapped-adsl-with-free-in-flight-wi-fi\/","title":{"rendered":"Affordable uncapped ADSL with free in-flight Wi-Fi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"WirelessG\/G-Connect\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/2205-WirelessG\">G-Connect<\/a>\u00a0unveiled today (8 May 2012) their first uncapped <a title=\"ADSL\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/2225-ADSL-Asymmetric-digital-subscriber-line\">ADSL<\/a> service with aggressive pricing and the unique benefit of 100 free in-flight\u00a0<a title=\"Wi-Fi\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1629-Wi-Fi\">Wi-Fi<\/a> and Wi-Fi Hotspot minutes per account.<\/p>\n<p>G-Connect undercuts major providers including <a title=\"Mweb\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1817-Mweb\">MWEB<\/a> with their new uncapped ADSL pricing. Their entry level uncapped DSL services are priced at R129 (384kbps) and R190 (1Mbps) respectively.<\/p>\n<p>WirelessG\/G-Connect will launch their new in-flight Wi-Fi service today \u2013 the first in-flight Internet service in South Africa. \u201cThe G-Connect In-Flight Wi-Fi access solution will enable customers to connect to the Internet during flights,\u201d the company explains on its website.<\/p>\n<p>G-Connect will sell two in-flight vouchers for Internet access on SA planes \u2013 3 hours priced at R50 and 20 hours priced at R90.<\/p>\n<p>The service will initially be available on Mango aircrafts which have been fitted with the in-flight Wi-Fi equipment. There are however plans to extend the service to other aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>WirelessG is using technology from Row 44 to deliver broadband access on South African airplanes.
