While many attribute the gain to the Constitutional Court ruling, some analysts say it has more to do with movement in the global markets. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.xe.com\/currencycharts\/?from=USD&amp;to=ZAR\" target=\"_blank\">On Friday the rand was trading at R14.78 to the dollar, R21.20 to the pound and R16.82 to the euro<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In global news,\u00a0Asian shares and the dollar both lost more ground on Friday as investors began\u00a0the new quarter in a cautious mood, with glimmers of life in China&#8217;s economy\u00a0offset by a darkening mood in Japan. Meanwhile,\u00a0Britain&#8217;s royal family is &#8220;seriously considering&#8221; intervening in\u00a0the referendum debate with <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/af.reuters.com\/article\/southAfricaNews\/idAFL3N17426C\" target=\"_blank\">an announcement that it supports UK remaining in the\u00a0European Union, the Guardian reported, citing a senior source close to official\u00a0figures<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Oil futures fell in Asian trade on Friday as oversupply and a strengthening\u00a0dollar weighed on sentiment, although another fall in US oil output in January\u00a0helped to limit the losses.\u00a0Brent crude for June delivery fell 46 US cents to $39.87 a barrel, while US crude futures dropped 50 US cents to $37.84 a barrel. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cefgroup.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Daily-31-03-2016.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">The latest local data shows that the SA fuel price will be increasing by 87\u00a0and 90\u00a0cents for 93 and 95 grade petrol, and 98\u00a0cents for diesel<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>In other news:<\/strong> Nedbank &#8211; whose CEO Mike Brown is the highest-paid retail banking executive in the country &#8211; is <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bdlive.co.za\/business\/financial\/2016\/04\/01\/pressured-nedbank-reviews-executive-pay-policy\" target=\"_blank\">being forced by shareholders to review its executive pay policy, and cut back on bonuses<\/a><\/strong>.
