Home Affairs has provided a list<\/a><\/strong> of 11 bank branches which support the eHomeAffairs portal\u2019s Smart ID and passport application process.<\/p>\n

The department launched the\u00a0Smart ID and passport applications website<\/strong><\/a> on 7 April, and invited South African citizens between 30 and 35 to use it.<\/p>\n

Home Affairs said its focus is currently on Gauteng and Canal Walk in the Western Cape, and asked citizens outside these areas not to use the site until further notice.<\/p>\n

Between 7 April and 13 April, 4,088 citizens registered through the online portal, said Home Affairs.<\/p>\n

Of those, 140 online applications were successfully processed.<\/p>\n

The list of supported bank branches is posted below.<\/p>\n

FNB Towers was not mentioned in\u00a0the\u00a0listing, but it was one of FNB\u2019s pilot locations for the eHomeAffairs system.<\/p>\n
