Banking group First National Bank (FNB) says it has more than doubled the number of subscribers for its mobile network service over the past five months.<\/p>\n

According to Shadrack Palmer, chief commercial officer of FNB Connect, the company now has more than 200,000 subscribers, having launched less than a year ago, in June 2015.<\/p>\n

The company said in November that it had reached 100,000 active SIMs on its mobile network service.<\/p>\n

\u201c75% of the new SIMs are prepaid and 25% are post-paid, and 40% of customers fall within the 26-35 age,” Palmer said at the time.<\/p>\n

FNB said on Tuesday that it has been awarded the Most Innovative MVNO at the 15th<\/sup> Annual World MVNO Congress 2016, held in Amsterdam this month.<\/p>\n

FNB switched on LTE services on all Connect SIMs on Tuesday 19th<\/sup> April. FNB Connect is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) that rides on Cell C\u2019s network.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are extremely excited with the growth of FNB Connect and are looking forward to announcing more innovative services which bring convenience to our customers,\u201d said Palmer.<\/p>\n
