{"id":122157,"date":"2016-05-02T15:00:51","date_gmt":"2016-05-02T13:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=122157"},"modified":"2016-04-29T18:41:49","modified_gmt":"2016-04-29T16:41:49","slug":"most-beautiful-banknotes-in-the-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/122157\/most-beautiful-banknotes-in-the-world\/","title":{"rendered":"The most beautiful banknotes in the world"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The International Bank Note Society (IBNS) has announced the winner of the \u201cBank Note of the Year Award\u201d for 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The IBNS award is given to the best-designed new bank note that launched and entered into circulation somewhere in the world in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Over 150 new notes were launched across the world in 2015, and 36 were of a new enough design to be eligible to be in the running for the award, IBNS said.<\/p>\n<p>The winner was New Zealand&#8217;s new five dollar note.<\/p>\n<p>The Reserve Bank of New Zealand began releasing a new family of \u201cBrighter Money\u201d banknotes in 2015, beginning with the $5 and $10 denominations.<\/p>\n<p>Printed by the Canadian Bank Note Company in Ottawa, each orange and brown $5 note displays a map of New Zealand in a gorgeous polymer window as well as numerous upgraded security features:<\/p>\n<p><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/New-Zealand-note-front.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-122171\" src=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/New-Zealand-note-front.png\" alt=\"New Zealand note front\" width=\"600\" height=\"293\" srcset=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/New-Zealand-note-front.png 600w, https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/New-Zealand-note-front-300x147.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The face features legendary New Zealand mountain climber Sir Edmund Hillary and South Island\u2019s Mount Cook (Aoraki).
