{"id":123191,"date":"2016-05-12T19:30:26","date_gmt":"2016-05-12T17:30:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=123191"},"modified":"2016-05-12T17:43:41","modified_gmt":"2016-05-12T15:43:41","slug":"this-is-one-area-where-joburg-beats-cape-town-hands-down","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/business\/123191\/this-is-one-area-where-joburg-beats-cape-town-hands-down\/","title":{"rendered":"This is one area where Joburg beats Cape Town hands-down"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Career Junction recently launched its 2016 Salary Review showing that Gauteng remains the best paying province, by some distance.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.careerjunction.co.za\/blog\/?p=32071\" target=\"_blank\">report<\/a> explores salary offerings, as offered by companies, for top occupations across SA\u2019s most lucrative provinces \u2013 Gauteng, the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.<\/p>\n<p>According to the career site&#8217;s findings, the city of gold remains the place to be in 2016 in terms of best earnings.<\/p>\n<p>This is particularly true for professionals who work within the Financial, Engineering, Admin and Sales sectors, Career Junction said.<\/p>\n<p>As an example, Finance professionals who reside in the Western Cape can expect to earn between 23% and 31% less than their Gauteng counterparts for the same job.<\/p>\n<p><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Careerjunction.region.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-123195\" src=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Careerjunction.region.jpg\" alt=\"Careerjunction.region\" width=\"549\" height=\"561\" srcset=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Careerjunction.region.jpg 549w, https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Careerjunction.region-294x300.jpg 294w, https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Careerjunction.region-50x50.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 549px) 100vw, 549px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Demand for skills across these provinces seems to have a major impact, Career Junction said.<\/p>\n<p>When looking at differences in job offerings for professionals between these two provinces it becomes clear that Gauteng is in far greater need of Finance professionals compared to the Western Cape, where only approximately 17% of recruitment takes place and KwaZulu-Natal with a mere 3%.<\/p>\n<p>When looking at other industries such as the Construction, ICT, Design, Media &amp;
