President Jacob Zuma on Tuesday insisted in Parliament that he knew nothing about the business dealings of the Gupta family.<\/p>\n
Answering questions in Parliament, the president was asked his view on calls for Public Protector Thuli Madonsela to investigate the family’s business dealings.<\/p>\n
IFP MP Themba Msimang\u00a0asked the president if he knew there were irregular dealings with the Gupta family.<\/p>\n
“I know nothing about the business dealings of the Guptas and whoever. Why should I have a view? Why should I have a view about if it must be investigated or not?\u201d Zuma said.<\/p>\n
He said he did not think he\u00a0should support every statement made by anyone, when he did not even know about the issue.<\/p>\n
“It\u2019s not my business. Those people will certainly go to right places of law enforcement and raise the issues,” he said.<\/p>\n
Zuma\u2019s relationship with the Gupta family has been under scrutiny for months, since the reshuffling of Cabinet in December.<\/p>\n
