{"id":125117,"date":"2016-05-30T18:13:08","date_gmt":"2016-05-30T16:13:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=125117"},"modified":"2016-05-30T18:13:08","modified_gmt":"2016-05-30T16:13:08","slug":"communications-minister-welcomes-sabc-protest-censorship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/media\/125117\/communications-minister-welcomes-sabc-protest-censorship\/","title":{"rendered":"Communications minister welcomes SABC protest &#8216;censorship&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Communications Minister Faith Muthambi has welcomed the decision by the SABC to stop\u00a0broadcasting violent protests.<\/p>\n<p>The communications ministry said it respected the SABC&#8217;s editorial independence and welcomed any positive action &#8220;that seeks to condemn the vandalising of infrastructure and the destruction of schools, and public infrastructure&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Muthambi said one of the SABC mandates\u00a0was to prioritise nation building and the promotion of social cohesion.
