Africa&#8217;s top 24 richest towns and suburbs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New data from New World Wealth reveals which South African streets\u00a0charge the most per square meter, in the most exclusive areas in the country.<\/p>\n<p>According to the research group, there are approximately 2,300 South African homes valued at R20 million or more (as of December 2015).<\/p>\n<p>880 of them are in Cape Town, while\u00a0550 are located in Johannesburg.\u00a0Camps Bays is the top suburb for R20 million homes in\u00a0the country, with 170 properties, followed by Plettenburg Bay along the south coast, with 120 properties.<\/p>\n<p>Cape Town is home to the most expensive properties in the country (per square meter), with Dock Road, near the V&amp;A Marina, fetching the highest price at R108,000 per square meter.<\/p>\n<p>Other streets that ask the most per square meter (between R77,000 and R90,000) are all found in Clifton, which is known as the most expensive neighbourhood in the country, according to\u00a0previous research from Lightstone Property.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read: <a ultra-rich<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NWW looked at s<span lang=\"EN-US\">ales statistics in each of the most exclusive areas&#8217; transfer guides, housing associations and aggregators, and took into account the a<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">sking prices in each area from major real estate agency websites to compile its list.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The group also conducted i<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">nterviews with local property agents and wealth managers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">These are the most expensive roads in SA (per square meter):<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Dock Road, Cape Town (V&amp;A Marina) \u2013 <strong>R108,000<\/strong> per square meter.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">The Ridge Road &amp; Cliff Road, Clifton, Cape Town \u2013 <strong>R90,000<\/strong> per square meter.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Nettelton Road, Clifton, Cape Town \u2013 <strong>R85,000<\/strong> per square meter.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Kloof Road, Clifton and Bantry Bay, Cape Town \u2013 <strong>R82,000<\/strong> per square meter.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Victoria Road, Clifton and Bantry Bay, Cape Town \u2013 <strong>R77,000<\/strong> per square meter.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Looking outside of Cape Town, few roads come close &#8211; with streets in Plettenburg Bay, Sandton and Umhlanga a stretch away from what is charged per meter in the Mother City:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Beachyhead Drive, Plettenberg Bay \u2013 <strong>R46,000<\/strong> per square meter.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Melrose Arch, Sandton \u2013 <strong>R35,000<\/strong> per square meter.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Lagoon Drive, Umhlanga Rocks \u2013 <strong>R31,000<\/strong> per square meter.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These are the most exclusive neighbourhoods in the country:<\/p>\n<div
