As many as 28 names on the ANC’s list of candidates for the local government elections in August either have criminal records or are facing charges, according to the Mail & Guardian.<\/p>\n
One candidate in the Solomon Mahlangu branch in Alexandra, Chris Mabunda, is facing murder charges following the death of two Alexandra residents accused of stealing.<\/p>\n
Mabunda worked as a security guard at the time of the murders. He is scheduled to appear in the Alexandra magistrate\u2019s court next week.<\/p>\n
