Media and internet giant Naspers says it expects a rise in earnings for the year ended March 2016, of between 15% and 20%.<\/p>\n
“We expect core headline earnings per share to be between 15% (38 US cents) and 20% (51 US cents) higher than the comparable period\u2019s 255 US cent,” the company said in a trading update on Wednesday (15 June).<\/p>\n
“Shareholders are reminded that the board considers core headline earnings an appropriate indicator of the sustainable operating performance of the group, as it adjusts for non-recurring and non-operational items.”<\/p>\n
Naspers said it expects earnings per share will be between 20% (62 US cents) and 25% (78 US cents) lower compared to the prior period\u2019s 311 US cents.<\/p>\n
Headline earnings per share for the year is expected to increase by between 0% and 5% (8 US cents) from the prior period\u2019s 167 US cents, it said.<\/p>\n
The company is expected to publish its results on 24 June 2016.<\/p>\n
