was an actor, I know what people want: Motsoeneng"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SABC COO Hlaudi\u00a0Motsoeneng has said that MultiChoice and eTV \u201cdon\u2019t exist\u201d in his eyes, and that employees from the companies are coming to work for the SABC.<\/p>\n<p>Motsoeneng was speaking at a press conference about \u201cschedule changes, new shows, and new talent\u201d at the SABC, and a new logo for SABC 3.<\/p>\n<p>He said many people were coming to work for the SABC because of the good opportunities at the broadcaster, and that he did not worry about what other broadcasters were doing.<\/p>\n<p>The press briefing follows statements from\u00a0Motsoeneng that the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/broadcasting\/166882-sabc-3-will-have-80-south-african-content-hlaudi-motsoeneng.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>SABC 3 will have 80% South African content<\/strong><\/a>, after a 90% local content quota was enforced at\u00a0the SABC\u2019s radio stations.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">We know what South Africa wants<\/h3>\n<p>Motsoeneng said the SABC knows what South\u00a0Africans want, and \u201chave been doing what people want\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe SABC\u00a0will do what we believe is right for South Africans,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Motsoeneng said the SABC will show more local content on its TV channels,\u00a0while ensuring standards are not lowered.<\/p>\n<p>From 1 July, viewers will see an improved news room \u2013 with consistency across all channels \u2013 said\u00a0Motsoeneng.<\/p>\n<p>From November, there will be a youth platform on its channels \u2013 where the SABC will visit universities to produce content.<\/p>\n<p>He said there will also be a focus on ensuring content is produced in all 11 of South Africa\u2019s official languages.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">I was an actor, and white people like me<\/h3>\n<p>Motsoeneng also took the time to explain that he was an actor when at school, and the content changes he was enforcing was something he understood from this experience.<\/p>\n<p>He added that he wanted to see \u201cmore white interns\u201d at the SABC, and that he had a good relationship with the white people he works with.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI work with white people, and they like
