French rugby clubs have reportedly set their sights on signing 20 of South Africa\u2019s top schoolboy rugby players.<\/p>\n
According to Netwerk24, there are talent scouts for the French clubs at the current Craven Week taking place at Kearsney College in KwaZulu-Natal.<\/p>\n
Accredited South African agent Mark Greeff had admitted that he was approached by French clubs for names of South Africa\u2019s 20 most promising schools rugby stars.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe players won\u2019t be able to study in France, but would be required to learn French. They would be placed at clubs like Toulon, Racing 92, Montpellier and Clermont Auvergne. Afterwards, the French rugby academy\u2019s selectors would also have a look at the players,\u201d said Greeff.<\/p>\n
The contracts are believed to be between \u20ac3 500 and \u20ac4 000 (R55 500-R63 500) per month.<\/p>\n
They players would also receive free accommodation as well as vehicles.<\/p>\n
The French agents at the Craven Week are believed to be retired South African rugby players who played club rugby in France.<\/p>\n
