{"id":130776,"date":"2016-07-20T13:24:04","date_gmt":"2016-07-20T11:24:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=130776"},"modified":"2016-07-20T13:24:04","modified_gmt":"2016-07-20T11:24:04","slug":"inflation-climbs-to-6-3-in-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/130776\/inflation-climbs-to-6-3-in-june\/","title":{"rendered":"Inflation climbs to 6.3% in June"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Stats SA has released the latest Consumer Price Index data, showing that inflation in June climbed to 6.3%, after dropping closer to the government target of 6.0% in May.<\/p>\n<p>On average, prices increased by 0.6% between May 2016 and June 2016, the group said.<\/p>\n<p>Inflation is hitting poorer households the hardest, the data showed, where inflation in the lowest\u00a0expenditure quintile (up to R21 399 per year) hit as high as 8.1%, compared to the highest quintile (R142 084 or more per year) at 6.1%.<\/p>\n<p>This is the CPI for each expenditure quintile (per annum):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Up to R21 399 &#8211;
