Starbucks South Africa has announced when and where it will open its next branch – the third outlet in the country.<\/p>\n
Taste Holdings, the group that owns and manages the Starbucks brand in South Africa, said it will open its next branch in Menlyn Maine in Pretoria, late in September.<\/p>\n
Menlyn Maine is a R8 billion “green city” being developed in the east of Pretoria, near Menlyn Shopping Mall, off Garsfontein road.<\/p>\n
The precinct covers 315,000 square metres near the mall, and is split into commercial, residential and urban entertainment sectors, while maintaining parklands throughout.<\/p>\n
The Menlyn Maine Starbucks will be a\u00a0250\u00a0square metre\u00a0store that will offer the ‘full Starbucks experience’ including coffee, a fresh food selection and free, high-speed Wi-Fi.<\/p>\n
The new store will also offer a ‘Reserve Bar’ that will serve some of the world\u2019s rarest single-origin, small-lot coffees and prepared through a variety of unique brewing method, the group said.<\/p>\n
Starbucks launched in South Africa in April and received a massively warm reception that blew out all expectations, according to Taste.<\/p>\n
“We were completely humbled by the support we have received since opening our first store in April,” said Carlo Gonzaga, CEO of Taste Holdings.<\/p>\n
“This new development gives us an opportunity to bring our iconic coffee to an iconic city with a rich food and coffee culture. We are honoured and excited to bring the Starbucks experience to ‘Jacaranda City’.”<\/p>\n
