Two-thirds of Americans expect that within 50 years, robots and computers will do much of the work<\/a> humans do now.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

And less than five years from now, according to the World Economic Forum\u2019s Future of Jobs<\/i><\/a> report, 5 million jobs will have been lost to automation. But technological advances \u2013 in robotics and machine learning, for example \u2013 will also create new jobs and change the skills that employers need from human workers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

To compete in the future job market, workers \u2013 even those in occupations less directly affected by automation \u2013 will need to update their skillsets, the report says.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
