The top trending question was \u2018What is the Springboks game plan?\u2018, followed by \u2018What is Eid Mubarak?\u201d and \u2018How many people died in 9\/11?\u2019<\/p>\n

    Sports was also on South African\u2019s minds in search this week, with some 20 sports-related terms trending in search since Friday 9 September, out of a total of 47 trending search terms. Sports terms that trended included \u2018Arsenal\u2019, \u2018Real Madrid\u2019, \u2018Springboks\u2019, \u2018paralympics\u2019, \u2018PSL\u2019 and \u2018English Premier League\u2019.<\/p>\n

    Other trending search terms this week included \u2018Winnie Mandela\u2019 on Thursday 15 September with 2 000+ searches as she celebrated her 80th birthday, \u2018Steven Anderson\u2019, the pastor who was barred from entering South Africa due to his anti-gay stance, on Tuesday<\/span><\/span>, and \u2018VBS Mutual Bank\u2019 which funded President Jacob Zuma\u2019s R7.8 million home loan, trending on Monday<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

    This information is gleaned from from data collated by Google based on what South Africans have been searching for and asking Google this week. Google processes more than 40,000 search queries every second. This translates to more than a billion searches per day and 1.2 trillion searches per year worldwide.<\/p>\n
