Msimanga told EWN<\/a><\/strong> that his administration would probe all suspicious tenders that were put out under the ANC, starting with four tenders worth R4 billion – with more expected to follow.<\/p>\n The Tshwane mayor dropped a bomb on the former ANC administration early September by laying criminal charges against senior officials.<\/p>\n The charges relate to two forensic reports, detailing corruption, fraud, and misuse of more than R90 million of public money in two projects of the City\u2019s previous leadership: City Hall and the Mayoral Residence.<\/p>\n The new probes relate to:<\/p>\n According to EWN, if any problems are found in these tender processes, the Tshwane government will renegotiate or even cancel the contracts..<\/p>\n Msimanga announced last week that he would open all future tender processes to root out any potential corruption involved in deals with government.<\/p>\n Investigations by Carte Blanche and Noseweek revealed a patronage network of over 40,000 suppliers in Tshwane, in which small companies were acting as middle-men to supply the municipality with items at a substantial markup.<\/p>\n Items such as lightbulbs were being sold at triple the price.
