{"id":13742,"date":"2012-05-28T10:02:06","date_gmt":"2012-05-28T08:02:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=13742"},"modified":"2012-05-28T10:38:32","modified_gmt":"2012-05-28T08:38:32","slug":"cell-c-99c-for-real-2-million-and-counting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/mobile\/13742\/cell-c-99c-for-real-2-million-and-counting\/","title":{"rendered":"Cell C 99c for real: 2 million and counting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Cell C\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1641-Cell-C\">Cell C<\/a> launched their new prepaid voice product and tariff plan called \u201c99 Cents For Real\u201d on 20 May 2012, and has already exceeded 2 million orders for the product.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are currently only just able to match orders for the product which have exceeded 2 million in the first weeks,\u201d said Cell C CEO, <a title=\"Alan Knott-Craig (Senior)\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1642-Alan-Knott-Craig-%28Senior%29\">Alan Knott-Craig<\/a>. \u201cIt is one of the fastest growing products we have ever launched.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Many existing Cell C subscribers are also migrating to the \u201999 cents for real\u2019 service. \u201cIn the first hour, thousands of customers had already migrated to the new product,\u201d said Knott-Craig.<\/p>\n<p>One of the benefits of lower rates to operators is an increase in call volumes.
