{"id":138259,"date":"2016-09-27T16:57:05","date_gmt":"2016-09-27T14:57:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=138259"},"modified":"2016-09-27T16:57:05","modified_gmt":"2016-09-27T14:57:05","slug":"this-is-how-many-people-owe-money-for-e-tolls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/government\/138259\/this-is-how-many-people-owe-money-for-e-tolls\/","title":{"rendered":"This is how many people owe money for e-tolls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>South African National Roads Agency (Sanral) continues to struggle to get Gauteng road users to pay for e-tolls according to new figures released by Transport Minister, Dipuo Peters.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bdlive.co.za\/business\/transport\/2016\/09\/27\/dipuo-peters-stands-by-e-tolls-insists-the-system-is-working-in-gauteng\" target=\"_blank\">Business Day<\/a> reported that Peters sent a written reply to Parliament noting that of the 2.5 million registered vehicles on the GFIP network in a month, just under half (1.4 million) were registered e-tag account holders, while 1.3 million users were paying their e-toll bills.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Currently \u2026 there are just over 2.9-million accounts with a balance owing.
